These technologies enable buildings to better understand themselves self-regulating energy use, anticipating maintenance needs, and adapting over time through predictive insight rather than reactive intervention. Beyond performance, immersive digital layers create online experiences that are more meaningful, inclusive, and accessible, opening buildings to broader communities regardless of location or ability.
Digital Twins and Buidling Automation
We explore how digital twins and building automation can work together to help buildings evolve into adaptive, self-organising systems. By linking real-time data, intelligent controls, and virtual environments, buildings can better sense, respond, and adjust to changing conditions and user needs. This creates opportunities to improve environmental performance, support more efficient use of resources, and encourage proactive management over time. Equally important, these technologies enable more user-centred experiences, allowing buildings to interact meaningfully with occupants and the environment.
Virtual Spaces & Virtual Experiences
We explore virtual spaces and metaverse technologies as a way to transform today’s internet into a navigable, three-dimensional environment that can be experienced spatially rather than through flat interfaces. Our ongoing research investigates how these tools can be applied across different architectural contexts, including museums, event venues, meeting rooms, and collaborative spaces. We work with corporate clients and brands to design tailored virtual environments that invite users into engaging digital experiences, expressing identity and intent through space and interaction.
