The adaptive reuse of Ca’ Rossa preserves the ruin’s architectural character and relationship with the rural landscape. Rather than reconstructing the building, the proposal consolidates the façade, retaining exposed masonry, weathered plaster, and its roofless condition as traces of history. A contemporary corten steel volume is inserted within the preserved shell, supported by a mass timber structure of CLT slabs, glulam beams, and columns. Its pitched form reinterprets local rural architecture, while the perforated double-skin façade filters sunlight, supports ventilation, and frames views across the vineyards. Hotel rooms are separated from public functions, including tasting, wellness, and visitor spaces, ensuring clear circulation and privacy. Courtyards, terraces, pergolas, vineyard paths, a pool, and landscaped amenities connect architecture and countryside, creating a sustainable wine resort rooted in heritage, material contrast, and place.
