Ligneum Chair is a sculptural piece that incorporates the unique qualities of wood. Computational design tools are employed to achieve a fluid design that optimizes the chair’s structural integrity, by eliminating unnecessary material and introducing openings to reduce weight. The design features continuous, nature-inspired geometries alternating convex and concave shapes, creating shadow patterns that accentuate topological continuity and organic fluidity found in naturally optimized forms. The design reflects SASI Studio’s Industrial design language, balancing strong geometry with tactile comfort through smart material use.
