At the intersection of history, urbanity, and nature, the design of the Museum of Architecture and Design in Helsinki was conceived to explore the dynamic interplay of sloped lines and surfaces, creating an immersive journey for visitors. The museum’s architecture integrates seamlessly with the cityscape, featuring multiple terraces that offer panoramic views of Helsinki. An accessible rooftop, equipped with an open-air theatre for events, and a direct connection to the adjacent plaza ensure that the area remains vibrant and active. The design is integrated with the cityscape, creating a building identity that attracts diverse visitors. Birch wood finish covers the triple-height entrance and the atrium, offering an inviting atmosphere day and night. Beside outdoor spaces, the building enhances urban qualities with the terraces that provide panoramic views of the city and sea, transitioning from the plaza to the café that engages with the neighbourhood.
